2010-10-13 17:38:28 - Another year passed...
Hey everyone, I know I don't update the news much, there isn't much going on though. Some of our forum members are working on a remake of MGO using the Unreal engine (check it out on the forums.) That is the biggest news for now. Just keep spreading the word, and pop by the forums to say hello and keep us motivated. I'll be honest I've felt several times like shutting the site down this last year. Yet someone always comes by and reminds me why I started in the first place. So to all you supporting this, keep it up.
Also [CG] Subzero made some awesome userbars, check them out:

Why am I doing this?
I am only one person, with a passion for Metal Gear (Solid). After Konami giving us a hint at what may be the future of Metal Gear Solid with an online mode in Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence I instantly fell in love with the game. It was a perfect, and unique online game that felt like no other online game I had played. Many others shared the same feelings, and when we found out that this was just Konami teasing us, with only a year of this amazing game, was angered. I quickly signed the online petition to keep Metal Gear Online alive (North American servers). That petition did not work, I feel the reason for it's faliure was the large ammount of spam, and usless signatures. So the servers were shut down, and we went without Metal Gear Online, with the hope that the new Metal Gear Online promised for later in the year would be an improvment upon the game so many of us had loved. Then horror struck, when the Japanesse beta started, and details released about the controls and other changes to the game. These changes however were not fully realised until the release of Metal Gear Solid 4, featuring a starter pack for Metal Gear Online (2). I played, I disliked it. Although the game still hold the Metal Gear title to it, it is not a Metal Gear game. Metal Gear Solid has always had a unique feeling to it, when playing it just felt different. Shooting with square, auto-locking. So many things made Metal Gear Solid and the original Metal Gear Online different. Metal Gear Online (2) was not like this. I started playing it felt like the many, many other games out there such as Socom, and Call of Duty. The 'improved' Metal Gear Online was no Metal Gear game. It was a game created by taking a couple features from Metal Gear Solid 4, and putting them into other successful games in hopes of making Metal Gear Online succesful also. Knowing that my feeling were mirror in other fans of Metal Gear Solid and hte original Metal Gear Online I decided to take serious action and set this website up, in hopes of being able to deliever to the fan once again the true Metal Gear Online experience.
We the Undersigned agree that the Metal Gear Online supplied with Metal Gear Solid 4 did not live up to the high standards set by it's beta, and predecessor released with Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence and request that Konami, and Kojima Production meet atleast one of the following requests.
